The public health workforce is changing fast. AI is reshaping roles, funding landscapes are shifting, and the most career-resilient professionals are no longer just the most credentialed — they’re the most adaptable.
This interactive workshop is designed to help public health professionals take a step back, assess where they stand, and build a personalized roadmap for the career they actually want — not just the next job posting.
Participants will begin with a Future-Ready Career Audit, rating themselves across five key pillars of professional resilience. They’ll then work through two guided activities: mapping their past to surface patterns and strengths they may be overlooking, and drafting a career roadmap that bridges where they are today to their longer-term vision.
Throughout the session, there are four structured networking moments designed to build connection and accountability — because career growth doesn’t happen in isolation.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
  1. Embrace the career journey — Recognize their public health career as an evolving, future-facing journey shaped by identity, community, and impact — not just job titles.
  2. Audit their future-readiness — Assess their current standing across five pillars: Digital Fluency, Career Visibility, Transferable Skills, Adaptability, and Continuous Upskilling.
  3. Envision their dream career — Gain clarity on their professional aspirations and explore the full range of possibilities, including non-linear paths, consulting, cross-sector roles, and entrepreneurship.
  4. Build a career roadmap — Create a first-edition roadmap with concrete, backward-mapped action steps tied to both short and long-term goals.
